Jeff’s interactive video

We learned today that it’s gonna be a grind to get everything to work as we want it. Some things are easier to work than others and obviously this interactive video had some tweaks to work out before it works exactly as it’s supposed to for us. When it works, I think it’s a useful tool to have student interact with the instructional videos as they become necessary in classrooms. Adding quizzes, polls, extra info, etc. is massively useful to keep kids engaged. We talked about one of the drawbacks of multimedia in class is that sometimes the students check out, check their phones, or chat with friends when the video (or other form of media being used) is irrelevant or too long. It’s important to properly vet our choices of media that we show our students videos that engaging, and relevant to the course materials. That said, my video above has nothing to do with anything.
